User Guide - How to register and list a property
Step One - Registration
All users must register either to contact the vendor of a property already listed or to list a new property onto the site for the first time.
- Select the Register/Login button, this can be found on the left hand side menu on any page.
- Under the heading ‘Not Registered’ select ‘click here’ to sign up for free.
- Complete all the boxes, email address, full name, password (minimum 5 characters) confirm password (must enter the same password as previous box) address, town/city and post code, choose an option from the drop down menu for how did you find out about the site, then fill in the telephone and mobile telephone numbers boxes. Click to read ‘terms and conditions’. When you have read the terms and conditions please close the box and click the box that says you agree with the terms and conditions. Note if any of these boxes are not completed you will not be able to proceed. When you are happy this form has been completed correctly then select click to register.
- The next screen will tell you that a confirmation email will then be sent to the email address you provided in step 1, section 3. This is a security measure to check that you have entered a valid email address and also to avoid ‘spamming’.
- Check your email. You will receive an email from ‘no-reply@interweb-properties.co.uk’. This should he received within a few seconds, if it is not received please check your spam box. The email will provide you with a unique code. Please type the code exactly how it is displayed into the box on the registration screen and click the confirm button.
- The next screen will tell you that your account has been confirmed and you may login.
Step 2 – Logging In
Once logged in you will be able to either start listing a property for the first time or to contact the vendor of a property already listed. Any emails received from prospective buyers/sellers/tenants or landlords and the emails you send to other users will also be displayed on this page.
- Either click the login link from step 6 if you have just registered or select the Register / Login button on the left hand side menu on any page.
- In the first box enter your username this is the email address you provided in step 1, section 3, followed by the password you entered in step 1 section 3 and select login. If you have forgotten your password select the forgot password link and a reminder will be sent to your email address within a few seconds. If this is not received, please check your spam folder.
- You will then enter the Registered User Options Screen and be presented with five options, sell your UK property, sell your overseas property, let your UK property, update my details and log out.
Step 3 – Entering Property Details
It is the same process if you are registering a property for sale in the UK, overseas or are wishing to let your UK property. Simply select the option you require.
- The first screen you are faced with is the property entry screen, simply select the type of property you would like to sell from the drop down menu, this could be apartment/flat, cottage, town house, terraced house, semi detached house, detached house, semi detached bungalow, detached bungalow, Dutch bungalow, business or commercial.
- Select how many bedrooms from the drop down this ranges from 1-8+
- Select how many reception rooms from the drop down this ranges from 1-5+
- Enter the asking price (numbers only please do not include any commas).
- Enter the house number and street name for the property you would like to sell or let (the house number will not be displayed on the live website for security reasons but is used in providing an accurate location map of the property).
- Enter the suburb, town/city and post code the property you wish to sell or let is located in.
- Select the region that the property is located in from the drop down menu, this could be Greater London, South West England, South Central England, South East England, North West England, West Midlands, East Anglia, Yorkshire, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, East Midlands or North East England.
- Enter the main features of the property in the boxes provides such as double glazing, gas central heating, garage, gardens, and local amenities nearby etc. You do not have to complete all of these boxes.
- In the next box enter a description of the property. This must be true and accurate, please do not exaggerate or put misleading information in this box.
- Enter the Room name in the next box followed by the details of the room, try to list the rooms in the order you would walk through the house from bottom to top. Rooms sizes if know should be entered at the top of the room details box.
- You can add as many rooms as you wish by simply pressing the ‘add a new room’ button.
- When you have finished typing the room details the next question asks if you would like to include a map of the property, simply select the desired option yes or no. As default this is set to yes as it is highly recommended to include a map.
- The next question asked is if you have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). This is a legal requirement and is required to be presented to a potential buyer if requested. If you have the ratings from this chart please enter them in the relevant boxes these are Energy Efficiency Rating, Current and potential and Environmental Impact Rating, current and potential. Please ensure you select either yes or no to this question. A chart will automatically be drawn to reflect these ratings which you will be able to check in step 4 section 1 (If you would like more information on EPC’s or would like to order one then simply click here).
- You will then be asked if you require a for sale or to let board, this is not essential but if you would like one ordering simply click the box, you will be charged an extra £25 for this service. As default a board will not be ordered but this can be requested at any time.
- To proceed to the next step click the ‘update property’ button.
- You will now return to the Registered User Options Screen but at the top of the screen you will see a new heading entitled ‘Your Properties’ this should show the title of the property you have just entered.
Step 4 – Final Checking, entering photographs and Uploading To Website
- Select the hyperlink with the address of the property you would like to upload and you will be taken to the final checking screen
- Read through the property details and make sure they are free from any errors or spelling mistakes, if you are happy with the details go to step 5 if you would like to make and last minute amendments click the ‘edit this property’ button. You will then be taken back to the form you completed in step 3, section 1. Make any required amendments then select update property. This will return you to step 3, section 16, then proceed as per step 4, section 1.
Step 5 - Entering Photographs
- To add a photograph, click the ‘add a picture’ button and on the next screen click the ‘browse’ button you can then search for where you have saved the property photographs on your computer. When you have found the photograph you require simply click it once and then click open. The photograph link will then be transferred to this page. Ideally you should use a jpg image of a size no greater than 1mb.
- You can then add a caption to the photograph, i.e., lounge, dinging room, etc
- Click upload to save this photograph, this may take a while depending on the size of the photograph. A prompt will appear at the top of the page when this step is complete.
- To add more photographs repeat step 5 section 1-3.
- When you have entered all your photographs click ‘print preview’. You will then see a printable set of details for the property which you may print out and keep for your records.
Step 6 – Uploading The Property On To The Website
- When you are happy with how your details look return to step 4, section 1.
- Select ‘click here to submit this property to be listed on the site’
- If you have a promotion code please enter it in the box and click submit any allowance will be taken off the final balance.
- To complete the listing click ‘Buy Now’ to be taken to step 7, section 1.
Step 7 – Payment
You are now taken to the payment screen which enables you to make a secure payment through paypal.
Please note any promotion code discounts will be automatically reduced from the balance on this screen.
1a. If you already have a paypal account then simply enter the email address and password you normally use and pay as usual. Your property will be sent to us for approval and we will submit it within 24 hours. A confirmation email will be sent to you when we have successfully listed your property.
1b. If you have not used paypal before you will need to complete the registration form with your personal details. Once you have made a payment your property will be sent to us for approval and we will submit it within 24 hours. A confirmation email will be sent to you when we have successfully listed your property.
